Last March 2014 I checked the Cebu Pacific Air website... they have this Piso Fare promo. So I just clicked and clicked trying to find out if it's for real. Travel period is after 3 mos. Out of curiosity, I clicked "FROM" (Davao) "TO"...hmmm, I was asking myself where do I want to go? I thought of Palawan first and total cost was cheap but...there were so many buts. Another Stopover

It seems that today we made too little progress. The biggest problem here is that the bus system and ferry system do not communicate with each other. As a result, you get to a town where you want to catch the ferry, it is still reasonable early, but the last ferry is gone. ... town and the people were friendly. We enjoyed getting away from the tourist crowd and being surrounded by only Philippine people once again. Being in the downtown area, we had a mall within walking distance and plenty of choices for food. Our hotel, One Lourdes Dormitel, was certainly adequate and a step up from what we had put up with in Boracay. It also only cost us $20 a night. We stayed two nights, giving us a chance to recover from the travel day and do ...

... like a landmark. I triked to town but had to make my way on foot to enquire about available rooms at various guesthouses. Check Inn had cheap rooms but completely booked out, Bascon Hotel eluded an uneasy creepy atmosphere (a dimly lit myriad of quiet corridors to their rooms) and finally settled for Ong Bun Pension House, across from the central market. It was a steal for 500 php including air conditioning, cable TV, ensuite and wifi (unreliable ...
