... on the bus, this is where Angie decides that she’s going to outdo the old people and slips on her ankle and 'almost’ falls off the stool (and the bus). She lands-up getting a fairly swollen ankle (and didn’t tell me till later) but was OK.

We arrive at the resort and are told we have full rein of the pools and also get a lunch. We have 4.5 hours here to relax, and we take EVERY SINGLE minute of it.

Cliff divers are. We were able to shop for about 30 minutes, then went through the la brea hotel to

ACAPULCO
First stop on the cruise is beautiful sunny Acapulco Mexico.
Due to some wind and rain last night the ship is about 2 hours behind schedule.
We will be docking in Acapulco around 2pm or 12 noon Pacific time.
We are only here about 5 hours and have booked a tour of the Cliff Divers and Acapulco City ...

... as we explored the city and the beach area. Today was Mexico's Flag Day so we watched and tried to understand an hour long ceremony in the zocalo. We enjoyed hearing the army band playing traditional music and a local band playing Sousa marches. It was all very formal. At night we wanted to see the cliff divers, but sadly missed out on this experience as we had quite a few things to do due to a change in plans. Chris and I made a big decision ...

Acapulco has simply two halves: the old town, which is where you will find the budget hotels, and to the east, the resort area, a string of fine hotels lining the Bahia de Acapulco. A simple Google search will list many of these hotels so I won't recommend any. If you ...

Today we drove to Acapulco. The drive was quite uneventful until we tried to find the campsite. Unfortunately the instructions were not very clear, although it was only for the last 10 kms that we had a problem. First we thought we should go east on one road, that we soon decided was wrong and so returned and went south. That got us in the right direction, but then looking at the position on the gps we knew we needed to go east again. At the first appropriate road we turned east ...

... on a bus to find out that most of the rooms were not actually ready yet. So a lot of us had to walk around for an hour or so until all the rooms were ready. But once we all got our rooms and settled in and stuff I felt a lot better. The hotel did have a pool that overlooked the water with a cute little tiki bar next to it, so I didn't stay too bummed for long. All of the bars in Acapulco are ridiculously expensive so Friday ...
