We drove to Tropea this morning and visited the old town and then went on to the beach beyond Sta Domenica. The weather was gorgeous and 28c and swimming was fab in the warm sea!
On on the way back we stopped at Pizzo and viewed the Chiaso Piedigrotto. This is a church that has been carved into the rock. Unfortunately it wasn't open, although apparently it should have been! We could see a bit of the carvings through the gates!
I booked us one night at this hotel because it looked like a fairytale castle, built in stone, and complete with turrets.......its situated about 7 miles up in the mountains from the coast with amazing views.......and we now have 2 nights here at a very agreeable rate! I woke up, early and packed my bags. Davide was fast asleep and I had heaps of time left so I packed his bags too.
We went down for breaky and then headed over to SGDG for our last lunch here. She made my favourite, stuffed eggplant and pasta and then we had to say our goodbye's.

Afterwards, we went back to the room for Davide to sleep. I wasn't tired (first time ever!) and tried to catch up on my blog.... I was 2 weeks behind! EEP!
When Davide woke up, he went downstairs. On his return he brought me a gelato!!! WOOOOOO!!! Greatest boyfriend everrrrr! :D

As per usual, we had a biiiiiiiig lunch! Filling ourselves to the brim and feeling incapable of doing anything afterwards. I consider this physical abuse and blackmail. :p (She kept saying she was going to tell my nonno I don't eat anything! I was eating more than her!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA)
