It was a lovely sunny morning after a bad night for John who had a bout of stomach cramps and then a bad time! He thinks it was food poisoning and put himself on a 24 hour fast.

The convent itself is really quite serene, there is no talking allowed and it was the perfect weather to be going for a walk. Along our walk from the convent there is a canal which had swans and ducks. It was so beautiful, I am obsessed with swans and they are everywhere in Europe.

    Why this trip?

... out there by myself." I guess that's part of the answer to why I'm doing this: to see how I'll do out there by myself. I've never been that solely responsible for being alright in unfamiliar surroundings, and I think it'll be a great learning experience, not only about the great big world out there, but also about myself.

I don't know if I'm more myself or less when I travel. It feels like more, since I generally feel happier, more free, more alive. But ...
