    What I'm Grateful For

... the kindness. My sister Karen actually gave me that towel when we went to Italy over her Spring Break in 2009. I gifted it to Mariah who said she would gift it to someone else. The American is super cool too. She's writing a blog and just doing a nomadic kind of lifestyle. I wish them the best. They are really awesome women. I'm glad I'm on this trip as a solo backpackers meeting other solo female travelers. I didn't take any photos today. ...

What a neat city! We didn't have a great first impression, since the taxi that took us from the train station to the hostel tried to charge us the equivalent of $120 for a 7 minute cab ride in the Romanian currency (we ended up paying 10 euros which was like 5x too much anyways but better than 100!) Fortunately, things only improved from there, and we had only positive experiences with cab ...

    The City of Parks

... in the square along with green space and a church not far away. In fact, in Timisoara, there's lots of green space and it's known as "the city of parks".

Today, we saw much more by taking a bicycle tour through the city. One of the neat things about being in countries and cities that don't see a lot of tourists, is locals and guides have more time to focus on us. The tour we took ended up being private and we stayed with our guide ...
