    ... stamps on our passports. Then off to get our luggage and find gate 9 and wait for the bus to the hotel. It is now about 11.30 Shanghai time, and we are feeling decidedly the worse for wear. Bus arrives punctually - while waiting for it we watched as people dice with death on the pedestrian crossing - taxis and buses have right of way!! The hotel is huge and we finally get to our room. It overlooks a car park - wow how exciting! Shower - lovely rain shower and bed. ...

    ... in play with local merchants. We were a small group of eight people, including an American couple whose daughter back home is actually named Sydney Fish. Seriously. The array of seafood here is staggering, and we followed the tour by sampling some great red snapper, calamari and whiting - all fried fresh for us for breakfast and enjoyed at waterfront picnic tables before the workday started.     ... kg so I had to remove our jackets so it would bring it down below 23 kg. Headed through Immigration without any problems and now sitting in the lounge for an hour or so before our gate lounge opens up. At 9:30 we were able to board the plane, our seats upstairs on the A380 were fantastic well, worth the Frequent Flyer Points to get them, left the Gate at 10:05, but having sat away from it for 10 mins or so, the Captain came on ...

    ... keep bring more and more food! % courses for lunch is a bit much. And although there is lots of food, the quality is nothing spectacular.

    2PM (somewhere over outback Qld) - 70 movies to choose from, but do they all have to have Chinese subtitles?

    3PM (over Arafura Sea) We've left Australian air space. First time I have ever been out of Oz.
