Jane "Hit the Wall" during our trip from Michigan to Tennessee to spend the night with her sister and brother in law. Too much seat time, not enough moving. Be good to get back to NC and get on with our building and my golf and joining the club. Good to see Stan and Nina. His shoulder still not recovered. Going to start weight training soon, but still awake all night with pain.
... Nashville today, but with two places along I-40 that had major road work going on (we probably lost around 10 minutes each) and then a major accident that closed the interstate and we sat for about 50 minutes, we couldn’t go any further.

... to stop and see. Our old neighbors and good friends Bob and Susie moved to a mountaintop near Crawford, TN two years ago, and we finally got to see their new "house on the hill". Susie met us in Monterey and led us up the mountain on curvy back roads. They had an ice storm this winter and there is still a lot of debris and broken trees.

Interstate travel is the surface equivalent of traveling airline coach in the skies. Overcrowded, unpleasant and getting worse every year! We now understand why we are the only people we know who have made multiple trips across the country. Every one else seems to stop after one. The kids were super excited about this visit because they thought they heard that Mr. Tom and Ms. Sheila were going to be doing a scooter race! But to all of our surprise the kids got to DRIVE the scooters.
After all this excitement we headed to the hotel to sleep, rest and get our batteries charged for another great day in a city that is full of special memories and friends.
