          ... prairie values.

          Don is still practicing family law, just remarried this summer to a lovely woman named Arlene. They seem really happy in that newly-wed kind of way.

          The next morning we go for a run along the river. Blue skies, yellow aspens, the sun sparkling on the river, the iconic bridges standing stalwart.

          ... whatever this pretty yellow stuff is.

          Other than the great scenery there wasn't much to distract me from the ride itself, although there were a couple of tiny villages whose town fathers (and/or mothers) had a good sense of humour. The first was a very small community called Gladstone, Saskatchewan... what good be a better symbol for a town with that name than a giant "Happy Rock"!

          We have made it to Calgary. Already Wilderman is drawing the boys into his dark world of gambling. (I think they're playing poker for Logan's mini Oreos.) What we have learned so far: Walker eats a lot. And when not eating, worries about when he will eat again. (Fair enough, I have the same thoughts about coffee.) Tannis when speaking with her headphones in, speaks loudly enough for the entire population of the plane to hear. ...
