          ... and barriers so that on the outgoing tides the estuary gets flushed and cuts channels each side of the mountain. The marshes surrounding the estuary are grazed by sheep owned by one farmer who discovered that his sheepmeat had a different flavour produced by the marsh grasses and the meat was much sought after. So he leases all the marshes off the government!

          We made our way from St Malo heading south for Moelan-Sur-Mer.
          We'd tanked up in St Malo - £1.05 a litre for Super Unleaded - not bad!!
          Will was seeking a caffeine fix. After 20 miles of grind on the boring N176 I decided to cut across country. We came across this lovely little village - Jugon-Les-Lacs. 2 big café au laits to stir the cryo tanks and then back on it.

          Woke up at 6am to 'Two & half men' repeating opening titles "Men,men,men,men,menly men men men, ooohhh", laptop had been left on.
          Went back to bed.
          Next thing.....'Bing bong, ladies & gentlemen the boat will be docking in 15 minutes, please make your way to your vehicles'. But it's only 7am. The ticket says 8.15am.
          Thanks Brittany Ferries, they don't say you board in English time but get off in French time who are an hour in front.

          ... I have Mike between me and the ground should I find myself rolling off the bed. You may be asking yourselves why didn't we do the same as the Frenchman- well, Mike was asleep and by the time he woke it was too dark to do it safely, especially as there is a 6" drop off the edge of the Tarmac. Incidentally, you know we Brits have a tendency to refer to the French as 'Frogs', well Mr Frenchie has a little green frog decal on the back of his very nice Bavaria ...

          ... uwith butter and sugar. Continued walking around the coast to the end of the track. Very rocky with nice little beaches in between. At high tide and stormy winds it would not be walkable. Walked the inland route back to the hotel, the back to the inner harbour to look across to st malo. Very low tide 9 or 10 metres by the looks of it. Drinks at the hotel and dinner at a local seafood ...
