      Le Mont Saint Michel

... amazing places without the summer crowds and randoms in my photos. Apparently the place is a nightmare during the summer period and just by looking at all the car parking that has been set up, it is obvious that ten of thousands of people visit Le Mont Saint Michel each year and seriously who can blame them, simply remarkable and not to be missed. If we had the time we would loved to have stayed in one of the hotels within the walls of the Abbey but alas, Spain and warm weather are ...

... all over the rocks. I climbed a rock that almost went over the walls of the prison. That was so fun.

The next day was New Years Eve. We just waited till 1:00pm to have a late lunch/dinner at a restaurant.

      Now it is 2015, yay.

We skyped family and then we went to a place called Dinan.

We went to Mont St Michel.

It is a church and a lot of houses on a rock.

We went inside the church and got an English tour.

It took around about an hour. But in my case ...

      ... from the markets.

We wandered through the quaint town of Dinan. A lot of its buildings weren’t straight and really looked like they would fall over.
We walked around the city walls and the boys attempted to climb them.

It was an amazing end to 2014 with almost 3 months of travel in Spain, Portugal and France.

Looking forward to more European adventures in 2015.

... to the foot of the town via another back alley and this is where things started to take a turn for the worse.

Apparently, there is only one train that goes from Mont St. Michel to Bayeux on this particular day, and that train doesn’t depart until 5:30p. Well fudge, it’s only 2:00p. We’ve got some time to kill. That’s ok, at least there’s a whole city to explore. Oh wait, it’s actually ...
