After getting back from Boracay we spent two more days in Lezo, before our planned trip to Manila and then home.

As stated previously, Lezo is a lazy little town outside of Kalibo. It is mostly a farming community, but it is famous for it's Pottery and for Ampow a Rice Crispies dessert.

We planned on spending 4 days and three nights on Boracay Island with Allan's family. We took off the day after Fiesta by renting a van to take the group on the 90 minute trip. Our group included Allan and myself, Allan's Mom and Sister, Aunt's Indac, Ginnie, and Rosita. We also brought along Andoy and Putin. 9 in total, so this was going to be a budget trip....

In Lezo that only internet we have is on a "Globe Card" which provides good internet in 3G areas, and dial up like internet elsewhere...Unfortunately Lezo is elsewhere.

Headed home after that. the ride home though small barrio and rice paddies is idilic and I have some beautiful pictures. After dinner we did another walkbabout town. Then home , packed for tomorrow and to bed. We didn't do much but it was exhausting.

We took a 1-hr flight from Manila to Roxas (Panay) with Cebu Pacific at 9am. Lolo and Lola were there to pick us up at the small airport in Roxas, and we went to have an early lunch by the sea (Baybay)...



Then it was a 40min drive on a narrow 2-lane road through the winding green countryside, passing by rice fields and numerous small towns to get to our own small town, Cuartero...

By 4:00AM the bar closed and Gilli was drunk (and a bit green) and now would be a good time to remind you that we had no room for the night. Luckily, it stopped raining and we only had to wait until 7:00AM for the main mass to begin in Pastrana Park. ... reason we picked this time of year to visit. I hated to miss the Saturday, and hated even more that most of the family wouldn't go without me. However by Sunday, I was all recovered and off we went to Kalibo. We took a tricycle to Lamancia and found the roads so busy, as you will see in the videos, that you could not get anywhere, we got out and walked. ... The waiting area, pictured here is like a huge auditorium, with some stores at one end, nothing fancy. I got a coffee and a donut like thing and we waited for the plane. Getting on the plane was up a flight of stairs, and into our seats. ... There were vendors selling local delicacies for pasalubong and one lady gave us free samples to taste while we're having our breakfast. It's different varieties of suman (rice cake wrapped on banana leaf) which taste really nice so we decided to buy a bayong (native bag) full of different varieties.
