    Fun times in Crete

On our ferry trip from Rhodes to Crete a man fell from another boat, into the sea. It was 10.30 at night and our ferry was the closest, so we had to turn our Ferry around and help him. We got a phonecall in our cabin asking Dad to move his car which was parked downstairs because it was blocking the emergency door. The boat guys had to throw ropes to the man, and then a helicopter came and picked him up. Mum and I were a little bit scared, and glad when it was all over.

... after cold English weather it would be a sin not to have a dip in the sea, even if it is middle of the night and your swim suit is still somewhere in your suitcase. Delicious. We ...

... who can speak Greek), struck up a conversation with an 80 year old man who happened to know a certain Yianni. He claimed we were standing right beside Yianni's old Pension [pen-see-ON]. Yianni sold it to another man at some point and the other man was now ka-put (as he put it) but Yianni was still alive. Attached are pictures, but who knows. The outside doesn't really look like other pictures I've ...

    Preparations for 2014

After a wet beginning to 2014 in the UK we returned to Kerenne on 9 April. Philippa travelled to Bristol before we flew out together to Chania and then by bus to Aghios Nikolaos the next day after a night in a hotel. It was a poignant return as this was the first time Philippa had been aboard Maņana since the unexpected death of her husband Dave.
