    ... So I was a bit shocked and regretful when I got stiffed 50 at the toll booth for a 10k 15 minute journey through a damp boring black hole. I suppose it saved me quite a few miles and a fair bit of time but it's over the pass next time!

    By doing a bit of planning the final few days coming back up through France turned out to be very rewarding too. I stopped for a couple of nights along one of my favourite spots in the whole country, the Loire.There are many ...

    ... We were happy that we were travelling south because there was very heavy traffic heading north. The only time we had to drop our speed from the maximum 70 miles per hour was when we encountered road works and upgrading of the motorway and there is quite a bit of that going on.

    The entrance into Falmouth was a little unnerving as Bruce negotiated very narrow streets with cars parked on the footpath and oncoming traffic. ...

    We encountered a traffic jam as we entered Plymouth and the last few miles were at snail’s pace. We got to the hotel early so we left the car in the hotel carpark and walked into the centre of the city to collect the train tickets for our journey to London on Monday.
