We went for a meal to Votsi in the evening and met a lovely lady and her son who cooked a very nice meal, they couldn't have done anymore for us and were genuinely interested in chatting. They sent us away with a doggy bag of some home made bread and a sweet quince desert she made.

... we befriended several cats and had a few foraged oranges. We love being able to forage fruit from the tree, it is amazing. We ate a light salad for dinner and got a slightly early night due to sleep deprivation the previous night. We managed to secure some thick blankets so all slept like the dead, so much so that the surround sound of the not 1, not 2 but 3 cockerals around our apartments didn't even bother Wifey and I.

We went to Patitiri Beach late morning to enjoy the sun, we ate our pack lunch and then waited for the ferry to come at around 1.30pm. We bumped into Dave and Gerry in one of the harbour bars and had a quick chat before boarding our ferry. I love the fact you bump into people all the time and people are so friendly, I really do like the community feel of the Island.

... being a little shy before hand. We are proud of our children, we are obviously biased but they are wonderful little crinkles. They are so articulate, thoughtful and polite, this is not something I say that often as they can be horrors to each other sometimes but I am a proud father non the less. Not sure where that came from but I thought I would share it anyway.

I must say it was nice to speak with a like minded person today, Guy and his wife Jane are into growing their own produce and living off the land which is exactly what we want to do.
