    ... for Salzburg was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Salzburg is a beautiful city, & the home of The Sound of Music, and also the birthplace of Mozart. After the official tour we wandered the streets and alleys, for several hours, then headed back to the station where we saw a group of Syrian refugees, including a mother and baby, in police custody - very confronting.

    ... to see as much as we could. We managed to get to a number of churches and also took the funicular up to the castle, where we not only got to explore the 900 year old castle, but also had great views of the city. The castle dates back to 1077, initially a fort established by an archbishop. The ring walls and towers were built in 1462 under Prince-Archbishop Burk*********** Wei▀priach.

    We definitely need to go back to Salzburg but were glad to get a whirlwind ...

    ... made it back to the ship in good time and sat on the sun deck so we could watch the bikes being put back on the ship which is quite a slick operation. We missed afternoon tea and cake but made it to the information evening. Had another tasty dinner with double pudding as it was Linda's birthday so our table had birthday cake and dessert.
