    I say I walked around NN, but it was mainly counting bridal parties who were doing photoshoots down by the Volga or on a green patch on a hill overlooking the city.

    In the evening, I asked the hostel owner (I assume he was the owner as he just sat around watching the tv and ordering other people to do stuff all day) if he fancied watching a film. ...

    The city I am in now, is the 5th largest one in Russia, with 1.25 million people. It is along the river Wolga, my first impression: very beautiful.

    ... in the festivities, we sat down at a large, modern restaurant for sushi. Not very good. It was then time to figure out what all the buzz was about. I swam through the sea of Russians, catching glimpses of areas set up for various demonstrations and exhibitions. One area was set up for gymnastics, another for weightlifting, and yet another for traditional dancing. There were mats laid out where wrestling and Sambo (Russian mma) tournaments ...
