... flashcards and quizzing ourselves on all the provinces, we saved some time to go exploring. Lots of vendors, beach camping, sand concerts, free Chinese plays, a million light up ring toss games, plenty of couples, squid on a stick, inflatable hamster balls people played in while in the ocean, some fireworks, a couple paper lanterns, and plenty of laughs later, we came back to our rooms with smiles on our faces and oh so many new memories.

Today I got up early and took a ferry out to Gulangyu to beat the crowds and the heat. The island, known also as, Piano Island, has no cars or motor bikes. A very welcome change.
