Ride from Maasin
to Baybay and on to Tacloban
There are two routes (there are hundreds more but for this story blah blah blah), you can go from Maasin to Sogod, or from Baybay to Macarthur. We looked at the map and read some things on the glorious, sometimes full of **** internet, and decided that we would take the Baybay route, …
Project Tour and Caniago Island
... VFV is doing and to see a little history.
As soon as we got back around 10:30am we got into vans to go on an excursion that VFV provides as part of your trip. The van ride was not much fun but totally worth it. Again it took around 4 hours in the van to get there. From the van we got on a larger version of the boat we took to Digeo island and it took us from the main land to the island.
The island was white sand and beautiful. They call it ...
Sanitation?
... the nurse was checking to see how much her cervix had dilated. Yes, she was wearing gloves, but when she was done with the procedure she washed the glove off with water and placed it back in the package of clean gloves! I still can't believe it. I just remember Allison, Dr. Brew, and I all just looking at each other in surprise. Would could we say though? It's how they do it here. A definite reality check.

Work and the Santo Nino Shrine
... begging for money, we gave up. Nothing we could see was unique to the Philippines whatsoever which is frustrating to me since I'd like to take something home to my family! However instead we decided to go to the Santo Nino Shrine which is a mansion (if that isn't the understatement of the year) that Ferdinand Marcos (the former president of the Philippines) built for his wife. The house was constructed not for the normal reasons (to live in), but as a place ...
Mission Accomplished!
... brother) is in the hospital! :( I know he's had a fever for a few days and I guess his nose was bleeding this morning so she took him in and they admitted him to stay over night for more testing. Poor guy :( We all couldn't believe that she left the hospital to make us dinner so we pretty much kicked her right back out so she could go spend time with him. She said he's being a trooper though and isn't crying at all for any of the tests or IVs - what a brave ...

We stayed in the Rosenvil Hotel by recommendations from Trip advisor. However when we arrived the staff could not be bothered to help me, until they had finished their conversation. The room was nice bed, cr, ac and tv all worked well. I had washing done in the hotel and when we collected it and looked at it realised yes it had been washed but it was still very dirty, in fact i had most of it re washed. Overall i didnt enjoy my stay. The staff ruined it for me with there attitude.
