It was a lovely walk along the riverside at Zgorzelec, and over the bridge to Gorlitz. The town square was packed with people and more than 100 potters all showing their wares! There was a German band with the piano accordion and the terrible singer. People in costume everywhere and potters at work with clay. The shops were a buzz with lots to entice us buyers.

... and some soup. tea , nice coffee and beer! Grzegorz has told us that this place was famous for the " best pancakes in the world" so we just had to give it a go! We ordered the savory for dinner.... Mushroom, onion, cheese and olive on top! The biggest pancake I have ever seen! It was delicious! We sat outside overlooking the amazing grassy basin at the top of this mountain. This site becomes popular in Winter too for skiing this gently sloping basin.
... br> We loaded up our VW people-mover and stepped back in time! The Dinosaur Age.The entry fee was 10 euro for adult and 4 euro child, which was good value for the days entertainment.
And a beautiful afternoon it was too! Warm enough for a swim! The park did have a water section.... just fountains that the kids could get wet under. Ava and Luke got wet, Will just paddled his feet.

Tom Tom took us home via another recommended sight, a very small village starting with B and ending in Z...??? which was lovely too. Chooks, cows, small subsistant farms, which looked very primitive. We then stumbled across a Christmas Tree farm while navigating some pretty rough dirt back road to get home to Studniska. You just never know what you might discover! Every day is an adventure!

I think a big part of this time being annoying to me was that I was comparing the trip to what we would have done at home. We would have (almost) never went with a group who had charted a path for us. We would have found our own canoes. We wouldn't have stopped so many times. We would have paddled more. We would have had a menu of what we were making for meals over the fire (but we can't have fires here, so sandwiches and yogurt ...
