A very quiet and peaceful evening, blessed with no midges as it was cold but this made the skies clearer and the light and colours spectacular. We walked a little, enjoyed our evening meal with some wine and a good, long sleep. En route to Tampere now for a look see and perhaps a shop before we find somewhere for the night, we shall see! Having been here before helped ...

      A sprint to the Finnish

... years ago. We had a friendly chat as far as Baker Street.

I was well early at Heathrow so I decided to go and look at the new terminal 2 and it's famous piece of art. I found this a bit underwhelming as there was nowhere from where you could get a good view. Everything was so close that you could only ever see the trees and never the wood.

... my expectations were too high, but I was slightly disappointed by how the day was progressing. Thankfully, the Suuret Oluet/Pienet Panimot (Large Beers/Small Breweries) Festival awaited us. We arrived at the venue just in time to gain free entry. Once inside, we paid a one Euro deposit for a pint glass and began our research. There were at least thirty booths set up representing microbreweries from all over Finland. We had a lot of work to ...

... band and Hamid the driver. Now, this being Finland, shows don't start until late. We'd planned to arrive at the airport before 5pm so we could be at the venue for 6, like at an English venue. No, no, no, no, shows here don't open their doors until at least 10pm, we got told. Sweet, more time to get the beers in before we go on then!

We got to Henry's Pub in Tampere about an hour later, loaded all our gear in and got shown the ...

... we went to another bar. The vibe there was really cool. They had a band playing blues.. and even had an impromptu kareoke session which was kinda strange.. but cool nonetheless. I didn't want another beer. I was feeling so bloated from drinking nothing but. Asta bought us a couple of shots of this pink stuff.. a drink made of vodka and hard candy. It was alright.. but I won't be stocking up on vodka and candy when I get home ;D
