Our days there were spent visiting the local cultural sights such as, Whakarewarewa Thermal Village, (a living Maori thermal village with geysers,hot springs and mud pools) and The Rotorua museum, as well as trails and hikes around the forests. ...

We had a couple of nights with Rod and Bridget (we did the Hauraki Cycle Trail with them) – it was Rod's birthday – more cake! However we did also walk up the lake to the swing bridge – it's about 8k there and back said Rod – bring back the SatNav – it was 16k....... However, we did feel good at the end of it ...
