... we got into the house just before it started raining cats and dogs. We ended up staying with one of the nicest and most interesting people I have ever met. Unfortunately she was flying off to Mexico as we arrived. She was a ballet master who flys all over the world teaching ballet teachers how to teach their students.

... Went from there to change into best clothes to go to the John Hancock Tower for cocktails on the Top floor- Tom's old haunt at conference. Sadly we were not allowed in with minors after 7pm - even though Ruth was in her dress and had had a French plait done by Tom. Just not fair.

And in case you are wondering, something magical did happen when the clocked struck twelve, feelings of awe and gratitude for another year and a chance to be more and be better as I stood at trocadero and watched the Eiffel Tower light up the Parisian sky. There is magic and love and life everywhere, you just have to be able to see it even if it is hidden for a moment.
