    ... view of the sea. Mom is happy!!! However, you should have seen her face when they brought out the dinner she ordered! She thought she was getting sea bass....instead she got a bunch of little fish like anchovies, but a little bigger! She was a trooper, and picked them apart because " I don't eat heads or skin".     We decided to explore a bit further south and have a look at Sozopol. It's another ancient town, but not a World Heritage site like this one. Took about an hour to drive there - managed to resist the temptation to stop in Burgas this time - and arrived in one piece despite some of the dreadful driving we saw.

    ... one of the churches ( how did they make such good maps 800 years ago? And how come this tiny place - called Mesembria then - was so important?) and a bit of sleeping / reading on the beach. No sun loungers available yet, but lots of activity suggesting they will be soon. Maybe the season starts on June 1st.

    ... from Bulgarian immigrants to Asia Minor, wedding clothes and special clothes for Easter, St Lazar's Day (the day before Palm Sunday, this has various traditions attached to it), Midsummer's Day and other specific days. I liked the costume for male Christmas carol singers as well.
