Today we arrived at our campground at BEALS POINT, at FOLSOM SRA.. Nice spot with full hookup, except no TV reception. Oh well, we plan to be busy this week. After we cleaned up and got situated we drove a short distance to sister Diane's house.. My nephew, Aaron was home. I had not seen him in about 8-9 years. Also, great- nephew Levi was there.. We visited Kelly's dad Bart and step mother Maggie in Auburn and while there we also saw Uncle Jimmy.

Bart and Maggie live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's where gold was discovered in 1848. It's a beautiful area - with many of the country charms you would find in Vermont.

... including the Blacksmith shop that was open and operating. We walked down towards the water where the gold was found but it was blocked off due to construction. This area is also popular for people going swimming and tubing as the water was not very deep and crystal clear.
