We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

... in Igoumenitsa soon--stop one of two. I decided to head outside and get a view of the land, the dawn, whatever was out there. It was just short of incredible how the little burdens and preoccupations earlier vanished (and how quickly) just by being outside while entering port. ... passed without too much drama. What was pretty crazy is we got to see a couple of water spouts form – which I or anyone had never seen before. It was crazy. We ending up seeing about five I think!

And just like that it was over. Our four glorious days were almost had. We dropped Diana off in town on our way to the airport as she was going back to the mainland of Greece to meet friends for another week of holidaying. It was the first big goodbye and it sucked ...

... to Corfu which was an experience in itself. Mr bus driver was not the most friendly of chaps and then he treated us to a great display of what appeared to be traditional Greek driving. Basically at breakneck speeds where lanes meant very little on roads similar to the dodgy old pacific highway (between Newcastle and Sydney) while playing a game with oncoming traffic to see who could keep their high beams on the longest.
