... further south we had gone, the cloudier and cooler it had gotten. It was now overcast and gloomy and the restuarant was full. We put our name on the waiting list as we mulled it over, but ultimately decided that the high menu price really wasn't worth it for the gloomy cold view we would have. Unfortuately, alternate eateries were few and far inbetween. We ended up with snacks from a gas station including a bottle of "Cactus Cooler" soda and an ...
San Luis Obispo, California, United States arnica18... down Morro Strand, looking at the birds, watching the surfers, and looking for interesting shells or flotsam. Mom tends to pick up weird things, which isn't bad, except I get to carry everything because she had no pockets. The weather continues to be wonderful. Again I wandered around in shorts, although I did have to put on a sweatshirt. The tide was coming in and the waves were crashing. I watched a kayaker navigate the waves by ...
Morro Bay, California, United States travelingma... We followed route 126 through some beautiful country...lots of farms and vineyards. Saw a sign for a honey tasting room, so we had to stop. They had 11 different types of honey from the familiar sagebrush to cactus (which I ended up buying), to avocado (not so good). The place was charming and very clean. They had lots of honey related goodies such as candy and such, but I stuck with a jar of the honey.
The trip was ...

Cayucos, California, United States loopyl00We had a brilliant night in our tent. It was the perfect climate, and the perfect surroundings.

We did not visit the Cracked Crab for lunch after all. I did not think it was reasonable to have such a large, pricey meal for lunch! I did however get the best clam chowder from Splash's Cafe! I have had too many clam chowders since we arrived on the coast at San Francisco, and this was by far the best!!!!
Pismo Beach, California, United States zwergliazraelI am not sure what has happened, but all the California State Parks are now charging the extortionate rate of $35 per night, for primitive camping sites. I think that is extremely pricey, considering that most private campgrounds charge about $40 for full electricity and water hook-ups. And just last year, the rate was only about $20-25!

The Morro Bay State Park is quite nice, but not at all what I'd expected. I’d ...
Morro Bay, California, United States zwergliazrael... It was adorned with ancient Eastern artwork and symbolism.

Nate comes from a family of healers. This becomes evident after only minutes of interaction. They are into the consummate development of people - physical, social, mental and emotional. The mediums they choose in which to carry out this development are obscure yet pertinent. Debb chose to analyze me using "character" cards. The task was simple. I was to shuffle the cards and ...
San Luis Obispo, California, United States kwagssd3... stones, succulents and other interesting plants. Throughout the labyrinth there were sculptures, water vessels, and shells in tasteful arrangements. It was a spiritually uplifting way to begin our day. Our San Luis Obispo hosts were Melissa, Chris, Ian, and Laura Adair. Melissa was our contact person from Central Coast Friends Meeting, and she not only worked on the route after San Luis Obispo, but also had done a lot of the work on our route from Monterey to San Luis Obispo ...
San Luis Obispo, California, United States peaceforearthAfter being on our trip we wanted to have some relaxing time and also I wanted to show SLO to Markus. Even the weather was quite bad with rain and cold wind we enjoyed it. Went shopping, walked through downtown, had nice long breakfasts in the morning. We hiked up Bishop's Peak on one of the sunny hours... Before he ...
San Luis Obispo, California, United States franzi_capoly... in who to rent it to because she doesn't like to have company so I mainly would have to stay in the room and couldn't have any people over but I could use her kitchen. So she was really nice but it's not the place I really like to stay. ... But better than nothing! We really got frustrated writing too so many people or calling them and receiving mostly no answer at all. The rent here in SLO is amazingly ...
