... beach. We check it out, they have both full hook-ups and dry camping. The sites are a little expensive, we will think about trying to find a site as they are first come only. We find a place to park and take a walk on the pier. It's now about 6 pm, the evening is clear, warm and perfect for taking a walk. The small town section has some very cute restaurants, shops, and bars facing the ocean, very cool! We head back to our campground and watch TV, then go to bed ...
... and I were, we decided to suck it up and hit the challenging climb which they described as long but worth it for the views and downhill – up for it, Dan and I followed them to the start of the trail with the ride there including biking along the 101 major highway which was pretty crazy with some massive vehicles flying along! Then the climb started and I was buggered with no leg strength after weeks of little exercise, burgers, burritos and ...
... like going into the water for a swim (or returned from the water), it looked like such tough effort to move those enormous bodies. We started getting funny looks when we put “oy vey” vocals to their movements. Anytime one of them returned from the water, they were only able to take a couple of moves, before collapsing to rest. We had a great time watching these magnificent animals.

After a 3 hour drive on the CA 101, we stopped in San Luis Obispo. We were lucky as we stopped during Arbor Day, which is a giant market and street party. Lots of barbecues, people dancing, etc. We've found a nice and cheap motel a mile away from downtown. Tomorrow we'll head North toward San Francisco. We should get there in 5 ...
... t do it justice, so instead why don't you just sit back (hey there's a TV programme in there somewhere!) and take in the views via my photos.
What I will say, is that the road is windy (again) with plenty of hairpin turns, perched high on the edge of cliffs, has no traffic lights but plenty of Mustangs - most are convertibles, oh crashing surf and the odd bit of fog / heat haze.
