The staff were nice, and the location is close to a metro station. The breakfast option is cheap and suitable for the price. The staff provided a mini fruit basket too. The wifi did not work in the rooms, even though the hotel says it has high speed internet. I was surprised they served instant coffee at breakfast!

          Flight to Dubai

... short bit of turbulence, which was barely anything. It was the smoothest flight ever. There were so many movies and TV shows and entertainment options to choose from, it made the flight go by very quickly. Between that and sleeping, it did not feel like 16 hours at all. I know I am already sounding like an advertisement for Emirates Airlines, but if you ever need to ...

Explains why the spiciest thing my family will touch is a bell pepper. I don't have many pictures of the food, because I've usually cleaned my plate before I have the self control to take a picture of it. Here the workweek is Sunday - Thursday, leaving Friday & Saturday for the weekends. Our ...

Day four and it's improving/attempting a tan time! Aka bask in the sun for as long as my pasty irish skin can hack it for and then hurry indoors and coat on Aloe Vera. Night-time was ladies night!! Dubai hosts 'ladies night' most nights - this translates as free drinks for gals before 'X' O'clock. Trusted sources assured us that 'Armani' in the Burj Khalifar (the tallest building in the world!) was THE venue for a Wednesday night on the town. To our ...

... off the plain we instantly realised that our clothing was more suited for Europe. (We were so excited about getting to europe, we didn't prepair for the stop at Dubai.) Our thick jacjets, scarfs, jeans and boots were not appropriate for the scorching heat of the desert. We were thirsty and immediately started walking around looking for something to drink. But there was nothing..... and no one in sight . We walked up and down looking for shops and ...

... still on the comb sweet and chewey. Delicious! We only ordered a small bowl between the two of us and we were glad we did as it was so rich and filling. As the sun was shining the city was very pretty so we decided to cross the bridge on one side and return on the other so that we got to look at the two sides of the river in bright sunlight. The fishermen were out in full force, I really don't know how they can still be catching fish as they are out there 24/7 as far as we ...
