... this period of year there are mostly aged people resting there, however I noticed there a lot of clubs near the beaches, so I consider that in summer this town is full of students. The beaches are sandy and what is important all those beaches are public. And one more thing - there are NO PRIVATE BEACHES in Lloret de Mar!
Lloret de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands eleoshka... at Roses looked much better with a lot more seafood included.
After lunch we set off up to the castle, inside its walls are numerous little houses which are still inhabited, although the satellite dishes were rather incongruous! After all this exercise it was time for a cocktail followed by a spot of shopping before eventually heading back to L’Escala.
cerca!
desp escribo desde la muralla!
... to be of that mindset, if I'm even allowed to have an opinion being an American) Anyway that's the very brief history of Catalunya as a part of Spain and France. Catalan is spoken and written everywhere here (and every place we visited this weekend). It's a beautiful language, a mixture of spanish and french, but it's own unique entity as well. I wish I could understand it-that would make maneuvering Barcelona a lot smoother.
Anyway Besalu was ...
... half - v v v v v v briefly and only to me. I tried to take a photo but only got one of the locals.....oh well
We then headed back to town to drop off the car...no real dramas other than v heavy traffic.
We then went on to the Sagrada Familia Cathedral - that was started in late 1800's and only has 25-30 ...
... which goes most of the way around the old town. At the top, I stop at the snack shop for a beer and eat the picnic I had prepared. Very relaxing watching the boats go by. I look at the bridge from afar when I can to see if my bag is still there. I pick it up at the end of the day. No problems.
Girona is another town with castle walls. I get there late in the day so all sites are closed. The hostel has only been open a few weeks ...
... feel like i am touching the sun. We went back to the campsite bar hoping to further develop our representations. Unfortunately nothing was going on and we soon left. After this we bravely approached a group of girls (of which none of them i was interested in Tiff because you are amazing) on the beach but due to a lack of language skills ...

As a special birthday treat me and Olly decided to buy 3 litres of sangria (less than a euro), 3 litres of wine (less than a euro), a bottle of vodka (less than 4 euro), and a bottle of random spirits (less than 4 euro). We then hit the beach for the first time. Cooking our food amongst the rocks we met a wandering Dutch guy who spoke perfectly English. He sat with us for a cigerette. We then got truly hammered ...

Cycling toward the Pyrenees with flip flops and an orange in my front basket which is quite loosely attatched to my failing 25 year old bike I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. What a ridiculous task. Fortunately, the road we were on turned out to cut through the mountains and it was a ...
... I had both feet in the door, and just kept pushing till my whole body got in. The doors closed behind me so yeh, close call :) There was hardly any room to move at all, and reminded me of Tokyo, though if Tokyo was a 10 out of 10, this was an 8.5 (scale based on space between bodies). There were some japanese tourists in the train and they too were enjoying the experience (such as getting tossed around as the train wound around tracks). I picked ...
