    ... the cut! =) We of course, graciously accepted her offering. It felt like getting a medal for being "most liked". =)

    Instead of some of the recommended routes, we decided to take the routes that would take us longer along the water. I would say that during the whole cycle tour a good 80% of it was within a view of some kind of canal, sea, lake or river, and if we could help it, this day would be no different.

    ... earlier. It turns out these things are flood barriers, but more on that later. There was a big hill separating the sea from the land (a dyke?) that we had to ride up before we were able to see the sea. There was also a track running along the top, but it was really windy up there. We chose to stay on the lower route as the wind protection it offered us was highly welcomed.
