... three towers. The sky deck is shaped like the haul of boat, mirroring the many large cargo ships that anchored just off shore. ... The music was symbolic of the different cultures found in Singapore and some patriotic tunes were played as the trees became red and white (the national colours).
When it ended, we checked out some side paths then headed over the Dragonfly Bridge toward the mighty Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Shopping Centre. Marina Bay Sands is the new iconic silhouette in Singapore. Finished in 2011, it boasts over 2,500 rooms, a casino, restaurants, theatres, a skating rink, ...
... corn when we get home. There will be no butter lettuce purchases for months to come...
And suddenly, Changi is within view. Our bags beat us to the arrivals hall and we are off to the Singapore Airlines Stopover Holiday desk. If flying Singair through Singapore, you qualify for such a stopover which includes airport transfers, hotels at a greatly reduced rate and free attractions.
The transfer bus is the first letdown... We wait for an hour with the explanation ...
... peanuts on the counter and shells dumped on the floor. Otherwise its really just a bar!
After walking for just a few blocks I found myself at a giant wheel with wonderful views from the top overlooking both the city and the harbourfront. On the way home I found Merlion at last - this is the icon of Singapore but not used very commercially for some reason, then home around the 5 massive towers of Suntec City and later on I toured ...
... a USB port and a functioning computer is a luxury this hotel doesn't have... It must have disapeared together with the cleaning lady...I am starting to wonder if this hotel is really in Singapore...
So depending of your imagination, you' ll be amazed or terribly bored by the Singaporian Zoo :-)!
