Even got to walk on the Bridge of Courage, a swing bridge, which is pretty difficult to walk on. ... for birds and there were guinea fowl foraging and running across the open grass as they do. We also saw 2 families of plovers with the tiniest of chicks. ... but the labels have faded in the sunlight, so it was difficult to read them. Also, many labels are right beside the plant, so it was difficult to access the label. Unfortunately, that meant that I could not learn what I was looking at. It was a similar story with the aloes. Little maps of that garden bed would have helped with the identification. That hiccup aside, this was an enjoyable outing.

... teachers use IK to help teach their kids if they themselves are not from that culture or have not learned about that culture? Is learning about African ways of thinking about things part of the teacher education curriculum? Besides holding lion cubs and watching rugby I am supposed to be conducting research here so I hope to look into this further…
