... I saw her later on, this time with my glasses on and she without. It was probably best that I didn't try for her autograph, after all. Seems like the Tavernelle Parco Aquatico has yet to be discovered by the Hollywood set. Get there while you can, I say! After our water sports, we had to get back to the Piegaro glass museum for an art and craft class. First up was stained glass. Bronte was pretty proficient but Flynn needed a hand. He kept making mistakes, though, so I ...

So many towns to choose from in Umbria…. Where to pick to base ourselves for our 9 night Umbrian stay? After much umming and ahhing we chose Spoleto, which turned out to be the perfect spot. Initially we had decided that we would make do with public transport and use buses and trains for our day trips, but after a day or 2, we quickly decided a car was the way to go, and I am SO glad we did. We justified the extra expense by using our mum's birthday money to Mikey ...

    Impressions of Assisi

A travel blog entry by travellingshoes on Aug 13, 2014

    1. For some reason Richard had wanted to pop in here - we had debated whether we would - totally glad we did. 2. Being quite amazed as we drove in at the size of the church do Assisi and the town perched on the top of a hill (now there is a surprise!). 3. The contrast between the simplicity of Assisi (giving everything up for the poor) and the scale of the church built in his "honour" 4. Our crazy GPS leading us along some tiny narrow lanes just to get out of Assisi to the main road ...
