    ... birthday when we get to Istanbul. We are planning a very big night for him!! He has very blunt humor and we all love him! Andrèanne and him get along very well. :) I'm hoping they get together by the end of the trip!!!     ... or offer a 5Euro umbrella as a light rain fell. Jumping into the water taxi took my breath away. It all felt so surreal. After a quick run through the canals we made it to our abode for the next two nights. We each have massive self catering apartments overlooking canals. The funny thing is that this is the cheapest accommodation we have booked for the whole of the holiday. Makes sense hey?! ...

    ... expensive we went for it. Best thing we had done. We toured the grand canal which runs through the city, saw all the popular buildings, bridges and enjoyed our private tour guide as well. He could not have done a better job for us. We also went to some of the smaller canal areas where the people actually live and work. A great experience for us both. It is a very good way to see the city.
