... churches and canal bridges we found ourselves in a plaza. Ancient church, brick plaza, a few shops and a trattoria (restaurant) named Al Bagolo. The Owner, Gabriel and his serving assistant Michella insisted that we sit outside under his awning. He turned on a propane heater for Mary Beth, since it was a bit chilly out. ... very squashed and small, and I cannot imagine how an adult would sleep there.

It was quite difficult to sleep as the bunks very very firm. I was also terrified the boys would roll out of their beds and come crashing to the floor.

We woke the next morning to discover we were running 3hrs late. There was only basic food to get from the kiosk. The toilets were disgusting. We were all tired.

But we eventually made it to Venice at 12pm. The sun ...

... business. We both wondered where all the accountants, lawyers and architects worked? We found a cosy restaurant in the area near our hotel, and a nice meal. We find that the meal prices are cheap, but throw in drinks, cover charge per person and the service charge, the end price of your meal always ends higher than you think. But the meals sure are tasty! We capped off the night with a gelato and purchased a couple of souvenirs including a Venetian "carnival" mask, celebrated ...

... I went to the office and bought the tickets for everyone and their luggage. We then headed back to the hotel for breakfast. Breakfast was a basket containing pastries, butter, spreads and coffee and fruit juice. It was very pleasant and was fine for us as we were about to board a cruise ship with unlimited food.
