... a look out for ice is vital.

As if all the ice was not bad enough the road ahead is closed and a diversion has been set up. This diversion is a long muddy road through a field. Trying to ride this muddy road in darkness was simply hell to say the least. I stopped one of the locals and asked directions to the hotel and he informed me its about 500 yards on my left and sure enough it was.

This hotel is simply magnificent. It has heated pools and saunas the lot. ...

... scenery, paid the €24 and went to the top car park, the little Peugeot nearly blew a valve. Walked around up top, but being on slippery ice next to steep slopes is not my idea of fun, we looked around and went into the lovely town of Misurina and had lunch. The lush green grass, the Austrian Alps with their first dusting of snow on them, the rivers and streams with their unique colour of greeny blue caused by the limestone in the rocks, the Austrian/German style of housing all make this area so beautiful. We will surely come this way again.
