... Having taken loads of photos on the way down earlier I simply headed as fast as possible back up to the summit and without even stopping at Stelvio itself I started my decent down the magical East side pass.

If there was ever a miracle road then this must surly be it as this section of road has over 47 hairpin bends and is simply hung by concrete pillars and bridges right down the pass. How the brakes of any vehicle survive this decent I do not know as even with all ...

... narrow path for walking! Very scary!

They took her advice and we watched them walking along their narrow path and they finally appeared . . .at which point John said, "That was stupid!" Apparently, the trail was all up - some switchbacks and some sheer up!

They grabbed a beer and some lunch and we all headed down. By this point, we were feeling rain drops on our pretty little heads. :-(. The clouds dropped ...

      Back to Austria?

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Sep 18, 2014

Time to leave Valle Verde. Decided to give Austria
another try as we are hearing that the weather has improved. However, with low
cloud this morning, there is little point in going over the high Dolomite
      passes.

Decided to go north through Moena and then west over a lower
pass to Bolzano. As expected, the low cloud made for little viewing of the
      mountain peaks.

Went north to Bressanone but stayed on a ...
