    ... it's now the greenest city in Holland. We started our foot tour of the city about 9am and finished about 1pm. Sunday is perfect for this as there are very few people around to get in the way of a potentially good photo.     ... for some photo opportunities and a beer. After our beer we then took the tram back to Dam Square and went for a tour through the Royal Palace. It was quite awesome and such a majestic place, found myself always looking up at the paintings and intricate ceilings.     ... I saw a very interesting poke dot patterned purple flower. Piet told me it is in the family of Fritillaries and it is a wild flower in this region.

    Leiden, the tulip raising area was only 20 km away but we biked to the sand dunes first. That is the only up/ downing hills we encountered during the whole trip.     ... 6 months. Moments like today I am forever grateful they gave us that experience. I remember that Yellow Bike Countryside Tour we did 14 years ago. I'm glad I remember it because although we really wanted to do it today, we just couldn't afford to - nearly $100! Knowing what I know now about the cost of entrance fees, food and living in Europe it just astounds me how they did that with four people.
