... Bitter Ballen (see photo). The best way this can be explained is if you took some thick/gelatinous gravy, froze it in the shape of an egg, battered and deep fried it. Interesting... But don't plan to order it again. Tomorrow we plan to go to the Van Gogh Museum, take a canal boat tour, and find the only windmill in the city of Amsterdam (which, by the way, just happens to be the site of a brewery and beer garden). Unable to sleep in so both of us got up at 6am, dressed casually and went for a walk. Cool breeze but not uncomfortable. Walked to Centraal station, then to Anne Frank Huis arriving there around 7:15am. Small queue of about 20 people. Winding my way along the back roads, bike route map in hand, I pedaled the 12 km to Keukenhof. Passing the daffodil and hyacinth fields, I was wishing I could find a way to transport the smell to all of you. Heavenly!

It is so very easy to get around ...

... br> I think my number one experience this weekend was walking the streets of Amsterdam. The beautiful canals, the appearance of the architecture which is far different than anything I had ever seen, a lack of people running into me (personal space for the win), a beautiful breeze, the beauty of all the people, the fact that cars actually stop for pedestrians, bikes everywhere, and happy and friendly people. According to Apple's Health app, we walked 10.5 miles on ...
