Romantik is a bit much to say, but it's a nice hotel. It's in an old building so there is some sound of moving parts (such as floor boards). The location is very central regarding the old town and the sights.

We are here in Villach and it hasn't stopped snowing since we arrived! There is about a foot of snow on the roooftops.

The hotel is lovely! Really nice spa and the rooms are a good size! Free wifi so I'm happy! Parking was a nightmare though!

Yesterday morning, our first day here, we are awake at 6am and Mick sets out to forage for breakfast. He returns with the gloomy news that neither of the nearby restaurant or shop will be open before 11am. This is a catastrophe.

We all slowly fell in love with Slovenia, camping in the pine trees, swimming in the lake and chilling amongst the mountains. The campsite was full of Dutch teenagers making the most of the activities on offer on the raging river running past the campsite. A great couple of nights enjoying the surroundings, even with some traditional Slovenian music thrown in as we ate dinner on the last ...

... on to Slovenia pretty quickly. And it was a great decision as we snaked our way through the mountains, the van coping admirably, with a new stunning vista around each corner. We headed to Bled and a campsite on the lake, but an avalanche of tourists for the Bled festival meant that it was completely full. In fact apart from the stunning location, the campsite didn't seem our bag anyway, so we went and found camping Sobec which was perfect, and it was time to chill and catch up on some ...

... girl who served us was very kind. While we all loved the cheese, Jason definitely enjoyed it the most, but there was far too much to finish in one sitting! As we found a place to picnic with incredible views, we thought about what it might be like to live in such a remote place with nothing but nature surrounding us.

Once we had our fill of dairy, we began the trek back down the mountain, following the path ...
