Heidiland Yesterday, we had a later start to the day as did the 3rd tour, to the Heidiland region which commenced at 11am and returned at 7pm. Our guide Marcello is a lovely older, slightly rounded Swiss gent and asked each one of us what our nationality was as we boarded. While Marcello is a tour guide now in his semi retirement, he did the mandatory military service as a young man and then completed his chef apprenticeship which was his main career for 45 years. ... is one of the Unesco World Heritage Sites. This place was filled with priceless books handwritten by monks during the Middle Ages. It's a dimly lit confection of ceiling fresco, stucco, cherubs and parquetry. Only 30,000 of the total 150,000 volumes are in the library at any one time. skies and no wind.
Staying near Jerzens tonight. Had a great evening meal at
the campsite restaurant ...

Tyrol Tourist Authority out there?!
Took a walk up the Rosengartenschlucht gorge. where the
Schinderbach river roars down a 2 km long ravine. This beautiful gorge begins
close to the centre of Imst at the Johannes church. Quite a strenuous walk, all
in all, up to Hoch-Imst.
Fingers crossed, the weather forecast looks OK for
