... every lane we change. Today's most tense passages were done without sat nav. Today we got lost for 8 miles - without sat nav. I'll willingly do the advert... Tomorrow will be easier because it has to be. About 100 miles to the schloss and therefore more time to find a campsite where hopefully we can relax for a couple of days. Germany has been pretty but also pretty tense. And ridiculously full. The pay-off? Pils at 50p a litre from Lidl. And the view to ...

Constance was Constant - Zurich Not so Much

We arrived in Zurich with expectations and all of them were met with disappointment. Impressions of Zurich. Brown, bland, uninspiring. It was difficult to find a park. In the end we found somewhere and had to ride about 6 km back into town to have a look around. We arrived in Switzerland went for a walk along the lake and then had lunch at a café that was the outlet for some chocolates that they ...

... forest, apple and cherry orchards with the occasional strawberry field. Vineyards are also prevalent, especially as you get closer to the Bodensee. We have spent the last few days cycling along traffic free lanes
    and forest tracks.

On Tuesday we cycled down to the Bodensee through pretty villages, forest and vineyards. We passed an old house whose roof was covered with storks nesting on purpose built platforms. Everywhere you looked there were storks, ...

    Last Hike

A travel blog entry by theriggs on Jun 27, 2015

... be our only opportunity to use it. In hindsight, I think it was a wise move as it meant I was fresh to attack the ridge. It was quite a steep uphill climb at the start, but not particularly scary, but before long the track narrowed and the steep drops either side became more intimidating. There were a few sections with a steel rope to hang onto where the track was particularly narrow, and a few other sections where I was grateful for Anja's firm grip to ...
