... had enough room to store cold beverages. Jan was in charge of purchasing beverages so she set out for the Monoprix (where they sell everything) and I set out to the farmer's market to see what we could do for hors d'oeuvres. We were figuring on about 6-8 people.

... on her way from the shuttle stop at TGV station but apparently she fell asleep and then was already in Aix. Deja vu!
I head over to the Gare Routier to meet her and after a little confusion trying to locate her, I find her and call a cab to pick us up- because of course the taxi stand has no taxis.
BTW- it's too far to walk from the Gare Routier to the apartment with luggage.

... accustomed to seeing which are so elaborate and complex and I guess you could almost say are monuments to extravagance and excess. It is absolute minimalist but has striking simple flowing lines that bear an uncanny resemblance to Sydney Opera House in some aspects....Maybe Utzon had a sneak peek back then....

That's right, we headed into Poligny, found a great park in the heart of the village and walked the 300m or so into the village square.
Poligny is supposed to be the Capitol of the wine and cheese industry in France (if you believe the local propaganda ) and we tried a few of the cheese shops and sampled their wares and bought ...
