... dinner. It's bedtime now, as we're getting up bright and early to take a train along the French Riviera to Genoa, Italy. France was so much better than we even expected; we didn't encounter any rude French people (not sure where that stigma came from - everyone was very nice and helpful to us), and we saw so many things that were unbelievably incredible in many ways: historically, emotionally, spiritually, naturally, architecturally, culturally... you name it, we saw it. We missed the summer lavender fields. If you really dig modern painting, Aix-en-Provence may hold some charm. Not a bad town, just nothing really spectacular.

Nancy liked the shopping in the old town during the market day.
