    Decent value hotel

We have stayed here many times over the last 10 years and it has always been reliable. The fan only rooms leave a little to be desired on presentation and cleanliness but are still good value - I guess. The air con rooms have changed over the years. At first they were good, then they too became a bit shabby but about 18months ago they underwent a refurbishment that has brought them back to a good level. Our bathroom needed a bit of TLC but the room was spotless, large, light and airy with a very big bed, cable TV, fridge, etc Last year this room was priced at 600Bht which I thought was stretching things for small provincial town but this year it has returned to 500Bht per night. Decent value and would recommend this hotel.

    Getting pricey

Have been staying here a couple of times a year for about 9 years now. Hotel is always clean, comfortable and welcoming. Rooms are quite large and well appointed. Fan rooms are a bit run down but aircon rooms have recently undergone a tidy up process. Our room had been decorated but I have to say with cheap accessories. Will probably continue to stay here when we pass through Khon Kaen but at 600Bht it is starting to price itself too high for a provincial town.

Wake up with the alarm just before 05:00 and finish packing the last few things we will need for just the one night away. With breakfast over we leave Khamnadie about 06:00 and bike into Phon Thong in the half light. I make the mistake of looking directly at the golden orb that is appearing over the trees and then have to ride blind for a few …

We eventually arrived back in Bangkok at 11:30 at night. I have to say, it felt like arriving home after a particularly exhausting holiday. It's nice to know that Bangkok already feels a bit like home. Perhaps we're settling in alright after all. Perhaps Laos did put things into ...

We looked around at the nice dress shops and Lettie tried on some grad dresses for fun. We went to Cinderella. Admission was $4.50 each, bucket of popcorn $4, drinks $1.50. We learned Wednesday's are the deal of the week with $3 admission. The movie was excellent, we all enjoyed it. We ...

... greatest 65km/h < > downhill run. Half way down the road had deteriorated and you had to hang on for grim death. All survived ok and then we had another 11km before getting on the bus to our motel, the last one in Thailand. Our hotel this night, Napalai, looked like the scene of a Thai Bus convention, with dozens of coaches crammed into the carpark. The lobby was also very busy, however in no time at all we had our bags and the room key. The ...

They pride themselves on their hard work that has allowed them to qbe where they are today and continue to improve their community. After the conversation with community members, we had a dinner at our host family's relatives house, including sticky rice (cow neow), squid, and papaya salad. On Wednesday, we had our final evening in the ...
