... but facilities are quite upto the mark. Rooms are
clean & geyser was working properly . You will not get any fancy food here.
But all famous restro are very nearby. Overall the security is good.

This guest house gave me two surprises & that was not mentioned in their
menu book or tariff :P.

One is amazing Kanchanjanga view from our room & other one is god ...

... the centre was set on and then met up with our driver. Next they took us to the Darjeeling zoo. This wasn't as bad as I had imagined. A few of the enclosures could have done with a little updating and a good clean out, but all in all, the animals looked reasonably healthy for being caged up. We saw a lot of red pandas, a Himalayan bear, a leopard, a tiger, and a huge variety of birds. The reason for the zoo visit ...

... with frostbite, heights etc. There were some pretty amazing achievements from the people who did it in the early days with rubbish equipment.

... really good, much better than the motor cross track from Calcutta! On the way back to Darjeeling, we saw several anti-speeding signs on the roadside, including "Better late than dead" and "Better late than never", not sure if they work or not!

  • Along the way, we dropped Giri off back in Maney Bhanyjang and said our farewells, plus we also gave him our old water bottles as we didn't need them anymore, he'll have more use out of them than us.
