As the 5 day trip to Gredos came to an end it was by no means a quiet end as the children made sure that they said goodbye to their experience in style.

After the culmination of the activity circuit, it was time for the final dinner of the week in the "dining room with the amazing views" as the teachers liked to call it on a daily basis!

Well, as I sit and write this latest entry, you can almost hear a pin drop inside the Gredos Centre Lodge. It's quiet time, and I dont think anyone will argue with 30 minutes to rest the legs that have wandered and roamed the sleepy hills this morning around Valdeascas.

It was the second nature trail in as many days and it encompassed some glorious waterfalls, rivers and rocky paths that took us in total around 5 kilometres. Plenty of time was included ...

... at the "travellers cafe", the big surprise that really and truly awaited the children was a 10 x 20 snow playground which they were told excitedly that they could be let loose on, sensibly of course! All was happy and cheery, with snowballs being playfully exchanged from one child to another, all basking in the mid day sunshine at the same time. That was until - upon seeing Mr. Barnes and Ms Prynne enter the "Snow Zone" - Mr. Slade saw his moment to join in. Mistake. Or was it? ...

... with his astronomy stories. It's fair to say that the children had definitely supplemented their knowledge from Year 5 Science and "Conocimiento de Medio" this year! Before long, the children were looking decidedly ready for their beds, and so the decision was made to turn back and head for home.
