... swim out. The Dinghy has been repaired after its altercation with the tree and has been transformed into a hot tub by Charlotte (she filled it with water which got warm!) ... dingy in the world finally got a dunking as the kids played on the lake. Afterwards we showered and did pasta and pizza. The pizzeria in the campsite needs to work on its timings. 20 minute wait turned into 80 minutes. They realised they had an upset Englishman on their hands at my wait - so fed me free beer!!!!!! ... the top, the views opened up and mountains and valleys stretched as far as we could see. Apparently the building here now is a recreation of the original. Outer buildings and parade grounds no longer exist. This is all due to the might of the RAF who bombed the mountain to oblivion! Not much is mentioned about this aspect of the site. Whilst it is definitely acknowledged, a WWII exhibit with details is all in German, so we were completely useless... ...

... It is a motor enthusiasts fantasy. On camber, off camber, steep climbs, overtaking lanes, views, for 42km's, ohh did I mention it costs €36 to drive no where? To give them credit it has been turned into a tourist attraction, with a map, and 13 key points/structures along the way. They also give you a car sticker to let everyone know you have conquered the Grossglockner. Motorbikes and sports cars were lapping up these corners, if only we had a car that could ...
