is a nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and have a good lay out. The hotel has internet and the mobile signals are strong enough for the Internet stick, too.

Watched the soccer in the lobby for a while, then wandered into the restaurant which was also …

After a wander up on the hotel rooftop to admire the surrounding view, with not a safety rail or notice in sight (how refreshing), and a spot of buffet breakfast to sustain me, it was …

... task was completed (locals believe) with celestial assistance and once you have visited the churches, you can understand the fervour of their beliefs.

St Georges at daybreak was magical. Everything I had anticipated, yet even more magical as the priests started their Saturday morning chanting and pilgrims gathered. Surprisingly and luckily I was the only tourist and together with Addis, was allowed complete access to the whole amazing site, except ...

... gift shop next door to the restaurant, a platter woven from brightly coloured threads, traditionally used for breads or popcorn. We spot a lovely antique cross in a mouldy and tatty leather pouch. We both love it, but its pricey. On return we strike a deal, a silver handmade Africa pendant with a heart cut into it for an antique cross in a leather pouch. Elleni discusses the deal with John, presumably her husband, and he shrugs in agreement. One of those sweet ...
