... and I mentioned that on my online reservation, and when we got there, they had an allergy-friendly menu, which listed what foods were okay for each allergy [fish, peanuts, etc] and they even gave me an offer to talk to their chef about the food, if I wanted to. Anyhow, the food was amazing, we each had a cup of gumbo, and I ordered the Monte Christo sandwich, which was amazing, it was cheese and turkey on fried bread with powdered sugar. So good, and such a big ...

... an early night as we wanted to be up and out of hotel by 7:15 the next morning. We decided to spend the whole day in the California adventure side first. We reached Beverly Hills, a very pretty place, where we saw even more "Pretty Woman" locations. The most expensive house in Beverly Hills is worth $70 million. There are no gas stations here, or even hospitals, it is only fabulous houses, beauty parlours and high-end shopping (good to know they've got ...

    L.A. - the final stop

A travel blog entry by tomellams on Sep 16, 2014

I sleepily got up in time for my flights and, after a dull 3hr stop in Miami, arrived in L.A. at just after 4pm local time. I got a bus then a tube and arrived at my hostel on Hollywood Blvd by 7ish. I went for a street burrito then got a quick pint, before going back to bed before 11 (...long day when taking into account time differences). After a surprisingly good sleep on an awful bed, I was up early for my first full day in Hollywood and took a 2 hour ...
