I left OKC with sun and cloud and 44 F. But as miles of farmfields and trees passed, the clouds thickened up and I wondered when the thermometer would hit 50. It did in spite of the persistent cloud cover, about an hour outside of Little Rock. But, hey, it did not rain.
Saw more of the city than my last ride thru because my motel is 5 mi south of I-40. The motel seems to have little on the city itself so I will peruse my guide book and see what else is noteworthy besides the Clinton Librar...

... for a job and, once I get one, to move out.

My trip was great, and I'm glad I went. I plan on heading out again on a similar journey at some point, but I don't know when. I wish I could have traveled more, especially in the western United States, but it was either come home and get a job or work on the road, so I chose home and job. I know some people take jobs on the road, work for a few weeks and keep traveling ...

Little Rock, Arkansas, United States djej2009... even did a little singing for our car, about heading east bound, the song was a little out dated but we forgive them anyways. Their coaching skills make-up for it. I guess American Idol is out of the question..sorry! Parents we definately already MISS you!!!! I promise everyone is doing great and are a blast to have with us. Welll it's bout time to hit the road again and for me to finish my lunch. We will keep you updated as we can! Conway, Arkansas, United States bastormsoccer... to stretch our legs again. After Mississippi, we
came into Memphis, Tennessee. We were only in TN a short time. As we
crossed a big bridge over the Mississippi River, we went into Arkansas
(the state line actually is in the middle of the river!) We got to
visit the "Welcome to Arkansas" welcome center (thanks to David
Andrew's bladder). We got a late start and the rain set us back - but
we were determined to make it ...

Little Rock, Arkansas, United States lagalag1... spent on the road, which wasn't too interesting compared to what we saw along Route 66. I figured I'd save everyone the trouble of reading a one sentence entry so I'm lumping it in with this entry. We made a quick stop at the AR state capital, which was modeled after the capital building in DC. I was surprised by how lax their security was. I even went up to the gift shop manager and asked her what the security procedures were so we wouldn't get in trouble for ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States fishy979... Oxford to pay Dottie a visit, and this clinched it. Dottie lined up the Easy Street for the Monday and Tuesday nights at the end of the month, alerted Thomas Jones to my projected arrival, and started talking it up. Eero and Simon wended their way across America to show up in Little Rock on the appointed day, and everything went more smoothly than could have been expected. Our Monday night audience was small but fiercely attentive, and the proprietor ...
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States johnsinclair... awesome: Yamataga from Memphis. The guitarist had attached a stuffed poodle to his ******, and his costume was a "dog-%#!$er." The band's lead was its bass player, dressed as the Simpsons' Duff-man. Duff-man ruled on the bass. They rocked. They were psychedelic. They did crazy Star Trek things and played fifteen-minute, walking on the moon, rising and falling instrumental songs. Yes! Duff-man would play a three-minute bass solo that we loved, and then ...
