... to collect an impressive amount in mine, more than Kathryn, check this clip out.

After all the 'hiking' we set off in the RV heading back to Las Vegas, stopping for the night in Tonopah, at a haunt recommended by Mr. Stephen Patternson the haberdasher. Well Steve, the Ramada was full so we were pointed in the direction of an RV park called "Joy Land". If the residents of Tonopah think that joy is found ...
South Tufa, California, United States jonbillett... kind of bubbles around rocks, and the water around it becomes thick and slimy like vegetable oil.

Anyway... enough “education”... let me tell you what we ate!! We made a fire and grilled pork chops to go with a salad. Yummy! We also managed to buy a corn on the cob. It was delicious, grilled on the open fire... perfect charred flavour.

We then climbed into the tent and settled for the night. It was getting very chilly (we ...
June Lake, California, United States zwergliazrael... several types of nothingness) we arrived at our destination, Tanopah. I wish we had taken more pictures of Tanopah, we managed to capture one and a movie clip that sums up the place nicely. The sat. nav. took us down a road that was far too small for the RV, the only place we found to turn it around was a turnout (layby) that had a car on it's roof covered in bullet holes, see the attached picture and for movie click here . After this ...
Lee Vining, California, United States jonbillett... the time of year I was visitng the area, there no was water coming over the falls so I was a little bit disappointed.

By the time I got to Mammoth Lakes it was starting to get dark so I found a hotel and went to a nearby bar for some pizza and beer. I made a slight mistake ordering my first beer as they ended up bringing me a massive jug of beer and it cost me $16! By the time I had a couple more regular sized beers I was pretty full so I just went back to my hotel room.
Mammoth Lakes, California, United States maccasworldtour... and redwoods. Of course, had to see Henry Cowell campgrounds..the most beautiful campgrounds to me since they are in the middle of the tall TALL TALL MIGHTY California redwoods. Also stopped at the Santa Cruz boardwalk, of course, and then on to Monterey. Spent the night in Monterey and roamed around the "Cannery Row" area ...
California coastline, California, United States pgaedeThursday we all got up after not much sleep, feeling extremely tired but ready to get in to another day. Mornings involved vocational activity - Rhonda to Metropolitan Water, Tim and Narelle to Sierra Madre Police Dept (1st female police chief in the Los Angeles county and only 18 members, with a beautiful tour of a very lovely suburb), Luce to Beverly Hospital. Tim and Narelle late to Rotary meeting at San Marino ...
East LA, California, United States gse9790... they give themselves to those they serve. The ski lift marshalls that ask you "How's it going?" and warn you when the chair of the chairlift is coming up behind. So people go out of their way to be nice to you here. Of course that's because they want your business - that's granted, its what comes on top that matters. The people enjoy giving you a good service as much you enjoy receiving; being nice to your customers is ...
Mammoth Lakes, California, United States jeremyhill... they were orange juice by the time they hit the pavement. We did stop at a strawberry stand and got some fresh California strawberries and they were so sweet. We drove the two lane highway up to Kings Canyon and it was so beautiful. We were at around 7000 ft and the weather turned cooler. We started our hike at the General Grant Tree Trail. Just pulling into the parking lot and seeing these majestic trees was amazing. Most of the trees are named after states or ...
Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park, California, United States becsher... fit here comfortably. The view at Wild Willy's (just up the hill and across the way from Hillside) was less impressive as the BLM installed a boardwalk that covered up a good portion of the view from the tub. There are two pools here, bigger and more natural but one was pretty muddy and filled with algae.
