Oakville Remember how we were told there is nothing in Oakville? They were right, there is nothing in Oakville. The drive from Gananoque to Oakville is pretty uneventful. A few days ago we stopped at a roadside shop called Tim Hortons for soup and a cup of tea. Drenched again...and definitely contributed to a bad hair day! Great ...

... told that thunderstorms were forecast for this afternoon so we decided to get the outdoor attractions done first. As we arrived just on opening time (9am) we were able to walk straight up to the Maid of the Mist boat ride with no queuing. A lift took us from the top of the observation tower down to the wharf just below the Rainbow Bridge. Before boarding we were issued with a blue rain poncho to protect us from the spray. The boat travels along the river past the ...

... It seemed as if I just closed my eyes and I felt the truck coming to a rolling stop. Dad pulled over and let Brian take over driving just before midnight. Half comatose, Gloria and I swapped places, allowing me to become a snoozing co-pilot. As soon as Brian got back on the main road I couldn't hold my eyes open. I vaguely recall him asking me something about gas and little else…

I was jolted awake as we pulled to the side of the ...
