Everyone had told us that there was not much to see but we enjoyed the vast plains with the green and golden crops. Parts of it reminded me of western Queensland in a very good season with the rolling hills and the vast crops. Not much in the way of wildlife although we did see a coyote and a lot of prairie ...

... good 12-13 hour drive, we got a head start and left on the Friday night and made it to Swift Current. I guess the only important part about this was that I was sick - had been for about a week. A cold mainly - runny nose etc. But about midnight - whilst the 5 of us were sharing a small motel room, I got worse - I started vomiting! Now, I know this sounds gross but it's an important aspect of being sick in Canada and I'll fill you in in my next blog ...
