We arrived at Swift Current to find my aunt Audrey visiting on the front walk with many of the ladies who live in the building. We had an excellent visit. After being treated to supper, we went back to the manor and completed a beautiful puzzle that someone had started. Vic was full of sassy comments and proverbs and we all shared some great laughter.
We set off from Calgary after a huge day at the stampede and made our way across the prairie country into the province of Sashatchewan. Everyone had told us that there was not much to see but we enjoyed the vast plains with the green and golden crops. Parts of it reminded me of western Queensland in a very good season with the rolling hills and the vast crops. Not much in the way of wildlife although we did see a coyote and a lot of prairie ...
... good 12-13 hour drive, we got a head start and left on the Friday night and made it to Swift Current. I guess the only important part about this was that I was sick - had been for about a week. A cold mainly - runny nose etc. But about midnight - whilst the 5 of us were sharing a small motel room, I got worse - I started vomiting!
