It was then Fantastyland with the Mad Hatters teacups, Snow White ride, WInnie the Pooh and his Honey Pots. We dragged Paul onto It’s a Small World – I’m still humming it, leave me alone tune!! The Philarmagic show was super cute and had some of the classic Disney music which Megs and I are huge fans of. The Peter Pan ride was gorgeous with hanging boats and Tinkerbell flying everywhere. ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Rodeway Inn Maingate Kissimmee
A sense of loathing...
We left the UK with a sense of loathing, in light of the reviews we had read about this Hotel. This was the only part of the holiday I booked personally but I did not read the reviews before hand only coming across them after booking. Oh! Dear! What have I done I thought to myself.
However, on arrival all my fears and others reviews were cast aside.
Are party of 3 arrived at about 4.00am we were greeted by an awake and very helpful member of the reception staff.
We went to our room armed with air freshener ready to take on the reported smells, the room didn't smell, the carpet wasn't sticky everything was fine.
Anyone travelling from the UK I would say this is not any worse than a Travel Lodge, the beds were fine- linen changed everyday, the room cleaned, fresh coffee and tea, the bathroom cleaned, fresh towels, forget the breakfast, a bun, the coffee and juice is good...the best bit was the swimming pool, good size pool towels always available, heated also gets the sun best before 3.00pm no complaints on that score.
It may be a different place to stay in the height of Summer, we went 2nd. of Feb. 2005 to the 16th. no noise, relaxing etc. etc., we only ever stayed in to sleep and watch tele. but after a hard slog around the Parks you are too tired to do much else.
There is plenty of food and drink available at the petrol station next door
and the otherside of that is a chemist for those relaxing bath salts and foot massage treatments that you will need after standing in the queues alday.
Very Comfortable and Affordable
Just returned from Kissimmee and found this hotel very comfortable and very affordable. The room was very clean and the service was very good. It is well situated and has a nice pool in the center of the hotel buildings. It has an in room coffee maker as well as coffee, juice and muffins in the lobby every morning. They also provided a local newspaper each morning. We have visited this area many times and believe this hotel is the best one we have stayed at as an ecomony hotel.
Usually you get what you pay for but this hotel gives you extra value at a low price.
We are already planning our trip for next year and this hotel is in our plans as long as they don't increase their rates too much.
Never ever ever again
We Had 3 Rooms For 3 Days And 2 Nights. The Rooms Smelled Like Mildew And The Carpets Were Filthy. In One Room The Toilet Did Not Work And There Was No Hot Water. It Remained That Way Until Our Departure. The Staff Was Rude And Inefficient. The Pool Was Not Heated As It Stated On The Website And There Were No Remote Controls For The TV'S.
Never again
We choose the Rodeway in over other places that had better ratings because we thought it would suit our needs the best. I have two teenagers and a diebetic husband. We thought the continental breakfast would be a real timesaver and helpful to have close for early morning food for my husband. Their continental breakfast consisted of small, individually packaged jelly rolls/muffins, juice and coffee. The same every day. I don't think they should be able to bill this as "breakfast" of any sort. Also, we paid extra for a "deluxe" room ($12 per night) with a fridge and microwave. The staff was fixing the air conditioning when we got there, told us not to put anything heavy in the 2 drawers that the four of us were supposed to live out of for a week, and tried to find another room for us. They were full and we were stuck. Our beds sat on plywood risers with boards under them to level them out. Viewing the mattresses under the spreads you could easily tell they were shot. The carpet was old. There was an elongated toilet in the bathroom that the bathroom door did not fit past. You had to scoot the toilet seat over to get the door to open and close. This was not a new problem, there was a groove in the door from everyone else's struggles with the door and toilet. We had no water pressure and had to request a new shower head. We had chosen this room as part of a package deal and I was never so sorry I picked this hotel. The maintenance staff was the only saving grace for this place. They were quick, efficient and friendly. Very small TV. We stayed in Room 7220.
Not great!!
The old saying goes you get what you pay for!
When we first arrive we thought we are only here to sleep so it won't be to bad.The carpet was ripped and in bad shape I told kids to keep slippers on. The first night a spring about 3 inches long was sticking out of the bed and cut my daughters leg. We complained and they taped it down at once.
The next day my daughter overflowed the sink by accident which acctivated the worse stench of cat pee you can ever imagine. The smell was so bad that the kids were crying and on our only rest day we were moving to a new room. The new room we thought was a little better, it had a fridge and M.W
at no extra cost. We also had pool side! This was not good as that night we were up till 1:30 am
with screaming people running around the courtyard. When phoning to complain they did nothing and said the pool closes at midnight and it takes a while for it to settle down! That night we also noticed that my husbands bed was on 2 planks
of wood used to try and level it out! The kids continued to ram there legs into this as they walked by as it was covered by the bedspread!
The shuttle service was also a disaster running late 6 times out of the 12 days we were there.Continental breakfast is the same thing everyday muffin and juice. There were many other things that went wrong, to numerous to mention. But when we tried to complain to the general manager and asked for some kind of compensation for our pain and suffering we got no response at all! While checking out we refused to pay the resort fee which was 30.00 and the lady on duty went over his head and waved it for us.In Canada if this happened they would have waved alot more than 30.00!! We would never go back! We are returning next year and we will pay more even if it is just to sleep somewhere.
I'll never go there again
The price was great but the rooms were terrible. The first room that we were in had the smell of cat spray in it. It was horrible. We were moved to another room. Initially it looked better, in that it had a fridge and a microwave, but there were 2 planks holding the mattress on the boxspring. These 2 pieces of wood stuck out from the side of the bed and injured my youngest daughter. We left a note with the general manager about the problems but he did not get back to us in the 2 weeks that we were there. We will never to back to this hotel again, and we will never recommend this hotel to anyone else.
Stayed 5 nights at Rodeway Maingate
Just returned from Dec.16 thru 20 stay at Rodeway Inn Maingate. Around the Walt Disney World area, there are many brand name hotels in more than one location. For example, there are at least 3 different Days Inns and Howard Johnsons. There are two Rodeway Inns in this area, a large one on International Dr. and this smaller two story Rodeway on Irlo Bronson Dr. I stayed here as part of a package purchased on the internet. I paid an extra $8 per night for a small fridge and there was a small microwave. There is a large Y shaped swimming pool that was heated. The pool is 4 to 6', great for older children and teens, but too deep for very young children. There is no hot tub at this Rodeway and continental breakfast is a juice machine and pre-packaged muffins.
I thought the rooms and service were O.K. Two restaurants, drugstore and grocery in walking distance. Car rental on site and about 15 min.
drive to the Magic Kingdom. No elevator for second story. I would say we would stay here again, but as our experience at Disney was not worth the money, I doubt I'll stay in this area again.
Rodeway Suited are basic needs
We have just returned from staying at the Rodeway Inn Maingate. We stayed there for 10 nights. The cost was reasonable and the Rodeway catered for our basic needs. So if you are on a budget holiday this would be the ideal hotel for you.The first room we were put in was a non smokers room that was a basic room without a kitchen. The room was clean but was not the greatest of rooms it looked as though you had stepped back into time. As we are smokers we were immediately transferred into a smokers room with a full sized kitchen which was a bit more modern at no extra cost to us.Both rooms were very clean and the sheets were as well and we did not see any bugs only the occasional mosquito. The only problem was that our room was dark even with the lights on it was still very dark as there was only one small window. The toilet got blocked one night but it was fixed within minutes. There is also a maid service that cleans your room everyday. It can be quite noisy at times as well with the kids staying in the pool until late at night and up early in the morning. The hotel has two pools, a great hot tub, pool bar, games room and laundry facilities although we did not use the laundry facilities. The hotels staff were really friendly and if we had any questions or problems there was always someone there to help. I would give them 10 out of 10 for their service. It is also close to all the theme parks and there is a great IHOP restaurant next door that do great breakfasts. We especially love their pancakes. We would consider staying at the Rodeway Inn Maingate again in the future.
Ok for the money
We stayed here for 7 nights and for the money it was ok. The carpet was the only bad thing about the room. It turned the bottom of our socks black. Other then the carpet everything else was about what you'd expect for the price. If you have ever stayed at a La Quinta or Best Western this place is about the same.
Uhhhh..
We stayed there for 3 nights during the Labor Day weekend. The price was good. That's the main reason why we chose to stay there figuring we would be at Disneyworld from dusk til dawn. The location was great.
It's close to shops, restaurants and of course Disneyworld. We did not spend much time in our room. Well, we would not want to anyway. The carpet was old and had lots of stain. There were bugs inside the rooms.
Our sheets were ok. Howerver, our friends who stayed in another room told me that they felt itchy underneath their sheets. Our air con was broken while we were there. And it got fixed promptly before we hit the bed that night. We would want to pay a little more and stay at a better hotel next time.
