... to our first Vegas buffet - way too much food was eaten and I didn't even get to try half the things! We went to watch the Bellagio fountain show, I loved it! Family Folklore: The Paris was our only hotel without in room coffee and free wifi-what's up with that??????? We paid $14.99 for 24 hours of wifi. We bought Wally Eastwood's DVD and the "green screen" photo taken prior to the show. We all enjoyed the pool.
Tomorrow-we're headed to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.
... until we landed in it and had some snacks. Then you realise how small you are and how enormous Grand Canyon is. I wouldn't like to have been the first settlers to find that bad boy!! The other two passengers were so interesting too! The guy was a lawyer who had lobbied at Congress! I literally nearly died with excitement. He gave me loads of great advice for pursuing law and practicing in the states. Everything really does ...
... walking only half the distance, so we're forced to pick up the pace. We arrive at Bright Angel Lodge more or less in time to get picked up for the return drive. The drive back is quiet and relaxing, and we do only a quick snack pit stop. Barry drops us off at our hotel around 9PM and we walk through the hotel back to our room tired and slightly shellshocked by the Casino floor. An amazing day comes to an end.
... It's populated with small businesses and an entertainment stage and a play area for kids. It may or may not work out in the long run, but it's a pretty good use of a troubled city block!
We said our good-byes to Sylvia and Ron after a wonderful dinner of her home cooked pasta sauce and meatballs,,.followed by her infamous apple pie. It was thanks to Sylvia that we were able to see Las Vegas as a city that has a lot more to offer than casinos!
